Hailing from Los Angeles, Gabe has always been determined to join the military and once he did, he quickly rose in the ranks. Eventually, he managed to get a spot in the coveted Soldier Enhancement Programme with Jack Morrison, functioning as head of Overwatch for a short time until that function was passed along to Morrison instead.

Gabriel got what he wanted in Blackwatch: a secret ops unit full of highly specialized fighters, who could worry about the stuff that Overwatch wasn’t allowed to speak up about. This is also where he met the scientist Moira O'Deorain, who experimented on him until his physical state became what it is now: rapidly de- and regenerating, allowing for all the funky reaper tricks he loves to employ.

After Zürich, Gabriel found himself at a loss in many ways: Overwatch was in shambles, all of his former friends and colleagues were either dead or out of the picture and his body was the most unstable of all, thanks to the SEP and Moira.

He resurfaced as the Reaper, a volatile mercenary with thick thighs who is a little too trigger-happy and eager for revenge. Not all is what it seems, though; while he works with Talon at the moment, and actually quite enjoys some of it, there is more at work behind the scenes, but he has not felt particularly inclined to share these plans with anyone.

Stubborn and determined, no matter which persona is at the forefront. As Gabe, he will flirt and tease with the ones he likes and trusts, though he always has a bit of a rough edge to him. If you piss him off, he’ll Most Definitely not hide that, but he’s also not someone to carry a grudge for /too/ long - at least, before Zürich.

When he cares, he cares deeply, and in the OW/Blackwatch days, he would have/will go to great lengths to protect the people he considers his. He has a tendency to lose his temper sometimes, especially when it comes to people being dumb, but that is one of the reasons he’s always been glad not to be the Happy Face of Overwatch. Jack’s much better suited for that.

As Reaper, he is a little less fun-loving and a little (lot) more likely to carry a grudge. He doesn’t fool around and when he has his sights set on you, there is very little that can distract him from it. He is angry a lot, in pain a lot, and generally not too pleasant company - even if, perhaps, there is more to it than just a man on a mission to kill the people he once called friends.

He’s still a horny fucker sometimes, though.
